The Psychology program at BC3 is designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year university, with coursework preparing you for more advanced study in psychology and related fields. 

What You’ll Learn 

  • Trace the history of psychology and identify major schools of thought 
  • Understand contemporary perspectives in psychology (behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, etc.) 
  • Describe developmental changes—physical, social, cognitive—across the lifespan 
  • Use and critique basic research methods and understand their pros and cons 
  • Build foundational skills in statistics, communication, and science needed for further study 

Program Requirements 

This associate degree requires 60-62 credits, usually completed over four semesters of fulltime study. Courses include general psychology, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, research methods, natural science labs, statistics, and electives in humanities and social science.
