Free Money for Your Education

Grants are financial aid awards that you do not have to pay back. At BC3, many students qualify for grants that cover most — or all — of their tuition and fees. 

Pro Tip: The FAFSA is required to be considered for federal and state grants. File yours early! 

Types of Grants Available

Federal Pell Grant 

  • Awarded to undergraduate students with financial need. 
  • Amount based on FAFSA results and enrollment status. 
  • Available for up to 12 semesters (or equivalent). 

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) 

  • For students with exceptional financial need. 
  • Limited funds, awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Pennsylvania State Grant 

  • For Pennsylvania residents enrolled at least half-time (6+ credits). 
  • Application requires FAFSA + PA State Grant form (deadline May 1). 
  • Amount varies by residency status and enrollment. 

Special State Grant Programs 

  • Additional funding available through programs like PA-TIP and others. 
  • Ask our Financial Aid Office for details. 

Emergency Grants at BC3

Sometimes life throws unexpected challenges. BC3 offers emergency grants to help you stay on track: 

  • BC3 Alumni Emergency Fund – for unexpected financial hardships. 
  • United Way Emergency Fund – up to $700 for rent, utilities, or essential bills (paid directly to vendors).

  • File the FAFSA every year. 
  • Be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits). 
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). 
  • Meet federal and state program requirements.
