Free Money for Your Education
Grants are financial aid awards that you do not have to pay back. At BC3, many students qualify for grants that cover most — or all — of their tuition and fees.
Pro Tip: The FAFSA is required to be considered for federal and state grants. File yours early!
Types of Grants Available
Federal Pell Grant
- Awarded to undergraduate students with financial need.
- Amount based on FAFSA results and enrollment status.
- Available for up to 12 semesters (or equivalent).
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
- For students with exceptional financial need.
- Limited funds, awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pennsylvania State Grant
- For Pennsylvania residents enrolled at least half-time (6+ credits).
- Application requires FAFSA + PA State Grant form (deadline May 1).
- Amount varies by residency status and enrollment.
Special State Grant Programs
- Additional funding available through programs like PA-TIP and others.
- Ask our Financial Aid Office for details.
Emergency Grants at BC3
Sometimes life throws unexpected challenges. BC3 offers emergency grants to help you stay on track:
- BC3 Alumni Emergency Fund – for unexpected financial hardships.
- United Way Emergency Fund – up to $700 for rent, utilities, or essential bills (paid directly to vendors).

- File the FAFSA every year.
- Be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits).
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
